So who IS part of the Plus London team? Well here is a quick write up of who we are and why we’re involved:
First and foremost we all know Lauren as the girl behind Pocket Rocket Fashion and she is one of the UK’s leading plus sized bloggers. Plus London was Lauren’s brain child and the reason we are all back and planning again for a third year. Currently she works in content marketing and in her spare time has been busy designing a dress for Simply Be (along with a couple of other bloggers). Lauren is known for her ability to look impeccably turned out no matter the weather or event.
Claire runs the blog Monkey See Monkey Do Monkey Wear, she sees blogging as her hobby. She also organised and hosted Plus London Two. Her day job is complicated to explain and has nothing to do with fashion, blogging or media! Claire loves to organise things – be it her friend’s wedding or just bossing her husband around – so Plus London is a perfect outlet for that.
Kirsty’s blog is Fatty Unbound and she is the TV celebrity amongst the group – having featured in a BBC3 documentary on body acceptance with Cherry Healy back in 2011. Kirsty is presently up to her eyeballs in studying for her MA. To help relax she can be found either whipping up all manner of fabulous outfits on her sewing machine, writing and selling her inspirational zines or trying to train her rats.
Isha is relatively new to the blogosphere – having only started her blog Creative Type Fashion in June 2012. However her organisational skills have meant she is invaluable to the Plus London team. Isha works for a university in Central London and in her spare time does all manner of creative things – with her great passion being writing and photography.
Michelle is best known as the owner of RedBows Boutique – a plus size vintage pop up clothing store. For those of you who were at Plus London last year you would have met her selling her wares. But hunting out vintage clothes for us fatties is not Michelle’s only job, she is also a teacher. In additional to all of this – Michelle is a skilled crafter and can turn her hand to all manner of things be it knitting, sewing, dress making or crocheting.
Our team will grow as the event gets closer and we’ll update this as we go along.
